Please include the following items in your prospectus/outline and email it to publish@benttreepress.com.

The Author

  • Provide a brief description of your background and professional activities.
  • How many times have you taught the course you are developing the book/technology project for?
  • Will this project be used at your school? If so, what is your estimated annual enrollment?
  • Do you have any other writing/development experience?

The Project

  • Provide a brief description of the project, its approach, and your purpose in developing it.
  • List the outstanding features of the project.
  • List the pedagogical features of the project.
  • Will there be supplements (teacher's manual, study guide, test item file, etc.)?
  • What audience is the project intended for? What is the level of the audience?
  • Has the material been class tested? If so, what were the results?

The Competition

List the top three similar projects in the field. How does your project compare/contrast with the competition? (Include author, publisher, publication date, length, price, coverage, organization, level, writing style, pedagogy, etc.)

The Market

What course(s) is the project intended for? What is the primary course and what do you think the market size is for this course?

Sample Chapters/Modules

  • Please include at least 1 sample chapter/module, preferably 3.
  • Selected chapters/modules should represent your work's basic theme and features.
  • Integrate suggested illustrations (hand draw or detail what you would like).

Additional Information Needed

  • Please list the names of any qualified reviewers you know. Include a brief description of their background.
  • What timeline do you have in mind?
  • What approximate length would you like your project to be?
  • What application are you preparing your project in?
